Immunologic Heterogeneity of Autoantibodies in Patients with Pernicious Anemia

Abstract
THE term "autoantibodies" has been applied to immunoglobulins of a person capable of reacting with his own naturally occurring antigens. In patients with pernicious anemia several different kinds of autoantibodies have been demonstrated.1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 Two of these are circulating antibodies directed against intrinsic factor alone or a complex of intrinsic factor with vitamin B12.
