Abstract
The charging process in cathode-ray tubes used for static storage of information is analyzed for both a stationary spot and a linear scan, with and without redistribution of secondary electrons. Approximate equations are derived for the surface potentials and charging current as functions of time and other parameters, such as primary beam current, writing speed, and initial potentials. The results are presented graphically in special cases for comparison with photographs of experimental wave forms. Keywords
