Abstract
The shielding of the internal volume of a superconducting tube from an external magnetic field aligned parallel to the tube axis is incomplete since the ends of the tube are open. The magnetic field at the center of the tube is reduced from the external field by a factor of 1.13×10−ph/a, where p=5/3, for a tube length 2h which is at least as large as the diameter 2a.Keywords
