Abstract
All elastic and thermoelastic constants of gypsum have been determined by ultrasonic methods. The observed elastic anisotropy shows close relations to other anisotropic properties. The thermoelastic anisotropy as well as the different deviations from the Cauchy relation c ij = c 9- i-j , 9- i-j are explained as typical for hydrogen bonds with a preferential orientation. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
