Abstract
The deoxyribonucleates have been characterized from six species of crab representing four families of the Brachyuran superfamily Brachyrhyncha. Five of the species contain two components related to the two (density about 1.680 and 1.700 g/ml in aqueous cesium chloride) which have previously been found in species of the genus Cancer. These and other results show that in the superfamily Brachyrhyncha, five families (Atelecyclidae, Cancridae, Gecarcinidae, Grapsidae, and Pinnotheridae) contain the two types of deoxyribonucleate and two families (Portunidae and Xanthidae) appear to contain only the more dense type of deoxyribonucleate. Keywords
