Abstract
Calculations were made of the elastic energy, its derivatives with respect to Burgers vector orientation, and the line tension of infinite straight dislocations in various crystals and different slip systems. A compact compilation of this data was achieved using Fourier expansions, and a tabulation was made such that the energy, its derivatives, and the line tension can be generated from one set of coefficients to a prescribed accuracy. Certain trends in the anisotropic line tension behaviour were noted and a classification was made for the crystals considered in this work. While the line tension may differ markedly from isotropy, it appears that the shape of equilibrium shear loops is not very sensitive to these large deviations in the line tension behaviour. Keywords
