Abstract
Raillardia demissifolia (p.78), R. reticulata (p.78), R. montana v. longifolia (p.79), R. platyphylla v. leptophylla (p.79), R. menziesii v. angustifolia (p.79), R. rocki (p.79), R. coriacea (p.80), and Dubautia laxa v. obovata (p.80), all from Hawaiian Is. The main results of a monographic study of Lipochaeta DC. are presented. The genus is restricted to the islands of the Pacific Ocean (chiefly the Hawaiian Is.). Macraea Hook. f. is reduced to sectional rank under Lipochaeta and made to include only L. laricifolia (Hook, f.) A. Gr. of the Galapagos Is. Four additional combinations are made: L. succulenta v. decurrens (L. australis v. d. A. Gr.) (p.87) ; L. lobata v. hastulata (Verbesina h. Hook. & Arn.) (p.91) ; L. l. var. denticulata (L. australis v. d. Wawra) (p.92); and L. l. var. aprevalliana (L. a. Dr.) (p.92) . The following, all Hawaiian, are described: L. alata (p.81) and var. acrior (p.82) ; L. acris (p.83) ; L. forbesii (p.83) ; L. degeneri (p.84) ; L. integrijolia vars. argentea (p.84), gracilis (p.85), major (p.85), and megacephala Degener & Sherff (p. 86) ; L. succulenta vars. trifida (p.87), barclayi (p.87), and angustata (p.87) ; L. lavarum vars. ovata (p.88), salicifolia (p.88), skottsbergii (p.89), hillebrandiana (p.89), and longifolia (p.90) ; L. subcordata vars. populifolia and membranacea (p.91) ; L. lobata vars. leptophylla D. & S., albescens (p.92), maunaloensis (p.93), grossedentata D. & S. (p.92), and hastulatoides D. & S. (p.93) ; L. profusa (p.95) and var. robustior D. & S. (p.96) ; L. heterophylla vars. molokaiensis and malvacea D. & S. (p.96) ; L. bryanii (p.97) ; L. kahoolawensis (p.98) ; L. perdita (p.99); L. venosa (p.100) ; L. rockii (p.100), and vars. subovata and dissecta (p.101); L. intermedia D. & S. (p.102); L. tenuis D. & S. (p.102). An evident hybrid, [CHI] L. pro-cumbens D. & S., is descr. from Oahu Is. Keys are given to varieties of L. integrijolia, L. succulenta, L. lavarum, L. lobata, L. heterophylla, and L. rockii.
