Lattice Vibrations of CuGaSe2, CuInSe2 Ternary Compounds, and CuGaxIn1−xSe2 Solid Solutions

Abstract
On the basis of IR reflection, transmission, and Raman spectra the frequencies of the vibrational modes of CuGaSe2, CuInSe2, and CuGaxIn1−xSe2 are obtained and identified. It is shown that the lattice vibrations of the solid solutions display mixed type behaviour. In the frequency range ω > 200 cm−1 the vibrational modes show two‐mode behaviour. Two relatively independent bands in this range are due to vibrations of GaSe atoms and InSe, respectively, in antiphase. The vibrational modes in the low frequency region (ω < 200 cm−1) display one‐mode behaviour.
