Abstract
Hydrodynamic equations governing the time-averaged motions of plasma electrons and ions in the presence of oscillating and steady electromagnetic fields are derived. In addition to well known gradient and collisional terms, new forces arise owing to the time dependence of the field amplitudes. Time-averaged particle flux densities are given. Keywords
