THE STIMULATION OF ALDOSTERONE SECRETION BY ADRENOCORTICOTROPIC HORMONE (ACTH)*

Abstract
When the urinary excretion of aldosterone is compared to that of cortisol, the rise in the former due to administration of ACTH is quantitatively neglegible, as appears from acute and chronic studies on 4 human subjects. However, the data presented suggest that ACTH stimulates the production of aldosterone as well as that of cortisol.
