Abstract
The nuclear and magnetic diffuse neutron scattering cross sections of a 1.2 at.% CuFe single crystal along the (110) direction have been measured separately using polarisation analysis. The moment per iron atom is 3+or-0.4 mu B and first-neighbour iron pairs are coupled ferromagnetically. The structured part of the nuclear scattering is attributed to a distortion of the lattice around the iron impurities. Keywords
