Abstract
The ground-state properties of a system of electrons and holes located on two parallel planes are studied with use of the Jastrow-type variational approach. The effect of interlayer separations on various ground-state properties is studied. The results for the dispersion relations of two-dimensional plasmons and acoustic plasmon modes are also presented. Keywords
