Stromatolites and fenestral fabric in Early Proterozoic Huronian Supergroup, Ontario

Abstract
Crustose and columnar carbonate stromatolites from the Espanola Formation at Quirke Lake, and laminated dolostone with fenestral fabric from the Gordon Lake Formation at Plummer, are considered to be products of benthic microbial activity at isolated, carbonate accumulating sites in transitional environments characterized almost exclusively by arenaceous sedimentation.
