Abstract
Few hospitals have a safe electric distribution system; overloading is the common characteristic. Unplanned expansion, obsolescence, supplementary services, and inadequate or casual grounding all contribute to the risks encountered by patients and personnel. Yet almost all electrical accidents are preventable. Dr. Walter outlines how protection can be achieved against both macro- and microshock. Keywords
