Abstract
Hospital-acquired pneumonia is a significant problem on medical and surgical services. Diagnosis is often difficult; mere colonization with bacteria must be differentiated from actual infection. The authors suggest means of differentiating specific classes of Gram-negative pneumonias, which today are the major type of hospital-acquired pneumonia.—HCNKeywords
