Abstract
Mid-infrared intersub-band emission is investigated in asymmetric coupled quantum wells. The authors predict that stimulated emission can occur between excited sub-bands under either intersub-band or band-to-band optical pumping when the energy separation between the ground and first excited sub-bands equals the LO phonon energy. Keywords
