Abstract
In spite of all the literature evidence, scaphoid cast is still being used for treating scaphoid waist fractures. This cripples the hand function of the patient, as only the hook grip function of the hand can be used. However, using a colles cast enables the thumb to be free and perform many functions of the hand.
