A preliminary evaluation of a positron camera system using weighted decoding of individual crystals

Abstract
The whole-body positron camera PC4096-15WB is based on a detection unit with 16 scintillating crystals mounted on two dual photomultiplier tubes. The design ideas are specified and a system description is given. Preliminary test results including spatial resolution, sensitivity to true and random coincidences, scatter correction, and count-rate linearity are presented.<>
