Abstract
THE EUROPEAN dermatology community has long embraced phlebology. The systematic study of venous diseases among dermatologists in Europe has flourished since the 18th century. In contrast, dermatologists in the United States have mostly focused on the treatment of venous ulcers; only recently have sclerotherapy and surgical phlebology been slowly gaining prominence.1Keywords
