Abstract
Mathematical tools needed in applying the integral formulation of quantum transport theory are developed and analyzed. Particular attention is paid to the sequence of approximations reducing the quantum equations to the corresponding integral formulation of the Boltzmann equation. The role played by the concepts of intracollisional field effect and finite collision duration time in the approximation scheme is discussed. Keywords
