IV Immune Globulin: Efficacy and Safety

Abstract
Used discriminately, often on a class- or subclass-specific basis, intravenous immunoglobulin can be highly effective as prophylaxis or therapy for a number of infectious diseases. The major advantage of intravenous over intramuscular administration is immediate availability of the total dose, with virtually no limit to the quantity that can be given without adverse effects.
