Abstract
The momentum distribution function for the ground state of the one-dimensional Tomonaga model at is derived. The applicability of the model is discussed. It is found that the restriction on the strength of the interaction is actually much weaker than that suggested by Tomonaga. The behavior of the distribution function near the Fermi momentum is investigated.
