Abstract
Schizophrenic outpatients [25] were treated in a pharmacist-administered fluphenazine decanoate clinic for periods of up to 1 yr. These patients had a significantly lower rehospitalization rate, a decrease in medication related side effects and showed improvement in functional capacity. A pharmacist may be clinically beneficial to schizophrenic outpatients and may help to reduce the cost of treatment programs.
