Abstract
The electron spin resonance spectra of the anions of methyl, ethyl, n-propyl and n-butyl cyclooctatetraene are described. The results are interpreted in terms of molecular orbital theory and are consistent with the hypothesis that the ring system is planar in each case. Keywords
