Abstract
Solid state image intensifying panels, consisting of a uniform layer of CdS in contact with an electroluminescent layer, have been constructed and tested with X-rays, gamma-rays from radium, and beta-rays from Sr90. The sigmoid curves of light output vs. dose rate input were shown. The advantages and disadvantages of solid state intensifying screens were discussed. Important applications were envisaged taking advantage of the long decay time, in particular the checking of the alignment of source and patient in radiotherapy. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
