Abstract
Summary: A modification of the Ouchterlony three-depot method of double diffusion precipitin analysis is described. The use of depots which form long straight interfaces with the reaction arena leads to the development of rectilinear zones of precipitate. The progress of zone growth may be predicted after a few hours in properly selected instances, so that useful information may be obtained without long observation periods. The rectilinear zones also serve to render the significance of coalescence patterns somewhat more apparent. Experiments are described, emphasizing factors in pattern development. Keywords
