Hemiglobin and Hemiglobin Nitrite

Abstract

Hemiglobin terminology as proposed by Theil and Auer (1) is inadequate. Equimolar quantities of nitrite and oxyhemoglobin give rise to the formation of hemiglobin. Excess nitrite causes the formation of hemiglobin nitrite.
