Abstract
Synopsis: The ammonite fauna of the Bukowskii Subzone of the Cordatum Zone consists of large numbers of relatively few species of cardioceratids and aspidoceratids. The fauna of this zone in the Staffin Shales can be correlated with that of the Bukowskii subzone of the English succession, although in Skye Cardioceras ( Korythoceras ) korys is abundant and Vertebriceras is rare. The following ammonites are described and figured: Cardioceras ( Scarburgiceras ) aff. bukowskii, C . ( S .) alphacordatum, C . ( K .) korys, C . sp., Peltoceras ( Peltomorphites ) hoplophorus, P . ( Para-wedekindia ) arduennense and Euaspidoceras sp.Keywords
