The Use of Colloidal Au198 for the Detection of Lymph Nodes in Radical Excision of the Breast

Abstract
In 3 cases of mammary carcinoma a tracer dose of radioactive colloidal gold was injected into the breast some days before radical excision. When the surgeon considered the dissection of the axilla to be complete, it was possible in two of the cases to detect further lymph nodes in the axilla with a directional scintillation counter.
