Abstract
The self‐diffusion coefficient of ethane has been measured by the spin‐echo method in the liquid range between 155° and 298°K and at pressures between the vapor pressure and 2200 atm. The results, interpreted with the help of an approximately determined equation of state, are inconsistent with simple free volume and activated diffusion theories. Keywords
