Abstract
Design parameters are presented for various geometrical arrangements of the cylindrical mirror electron energy analyzer. The theory and operation of this high quality instrument are discussed and compared with an experimental device. Similar properties of a parallel plate analyzer with second order focusing are reviewed. Keywords
