Abstract
The ionization due to gamma-radiation from radioactive substances in the ground is detd. by calculation and measurement. Observations of the gamma-radiation in 68 houses in Sweden has shown that the ionization varies between 5-30 ion pairs/cu.cm. sec. It is believed that a more extensive investigation will give still larger differences. The biologic importance of the natural gamma-radiation is discussed. Keywords
