Effect of the Finite Size of the Nucleus onμ-Pair Production by Gamma Rays

Abstract
The cross section for -pair production by gamma rays is calculated by using the Bethe-Heitler formula, taking into account the finite nuclear size. The cross section is shown to be considerably smaller than that for a point-charge nucleus.
