Abstract
Application of gauge transformation for generating explicit auto-Backlund relations is demonstrated for a number of integrable systems, e.g. KdV, SG, NLS, DNLS, mixed DNLS, modified DNLS, LLE, etc. This method turns out to be much simpler, effective and straightforward. Using Backlund relations all conserved quantities are expressed in a novel derivative-free form, which simplifies the calculation of important soliton characteristics. Keywords
