Abstract
The preoperative positive cytologic and histologic findings in 10 [human] cases of pulmonary blastoma are presented and compared with the results from the literature. In 8 of 10 cases a preoperative diagnosis of cancer was possible and in 6 a review of the material disclosed a biphasic feature. A pulmonary blastoma may be suggested when the preoperative microscopic specimens show immature tumor cells or tumor tissue with biphasic differentiation.
