Abstract
Correlative equations of heat transfer coefficients from a vessel wall or an immersed cooling coil were obtained for the aerated mixing vessel and the aerated tower. The correlative equations for the aerated mixing vessel was found to be the same expressions as those of heat transfer coefficients for the mixing vessel without aeration by using Re' number define as follows : Re'= {(Pg+Pa) gc/ρd5Np} 1/3d2ρ/μ where Pg and Pa are power requirement of impellers in the aerated mixing vessel and of aeration, respectively. For aerated towers the following equation is obtained. (h/Cpρ) (ρ2/Δρμg) 1/3 (Cpμ/k) 0.62=0.34 (Pa/ρV) 1/4 In the case of non-Newtonian liquids in aerated towers, heat transfer coefficients for cooling coil became much higher than those for jacket wall owing to visco-elastic and pseudoplastic effects. Keywords
