Abstract
Acute administration of 1,500 mg of sodium valproate or chronic administration of 30 mg/kg/24 hours induced a more than twofold increase of renal ammoniagenesis in fasting subjects. Hyperammonemia was moderate, as normal hepatic ammonia detoxification persisted. Renal uptake of glutamine increased simultaneously. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
