Abstract
4-Substituted 3-amino-5-hydroxybenzoic acids were tested in mutasynthesis experiments as potential starter-units for the biosynthesis of 3-substituted rifamycins. Apparently, 3-substituents in rifamycin and other ansamycin chromophores must be introduced in a late biosynthetic step. This publication has 11 references indexed in Scilit:
