Abstract
The stylohyoid ligament is seen on lateral radiographs of the neck to be normally calcified to some extent in .apprx. 25% of all children between ages 1.5-15. When it appears, the ossification pattern is a relatively thin configuration in 90% of children. In 8 of 9 children with Hurler syndrome, the stylohyoid was calcified, thicker than in normal children. This finding illustrates the nature of the stylohyoid ligament as a bone analog and its participation in the skeletal deformity pattern of dysostosis multiplex. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
