Abstract
A close analogy is pointed out between dyons (particles with electric and magnetic charge) in grand-unified theories and solitons in antiferromagnetic chains. For nonzero topological angle , dyon electric charges are noninteger: . An analogous phenomenon occurs in antiferromagnets with alternating interactions.
