Abstract
Experiments indicate that L. acidophilus R-26 can not use either 3[image]5[image]-thymidine diphosphate (TDP) , TDP, deoxycyti-dine diphosphate, deoxycytidine triphosphate or thymidine triphosphate for growth, although the compounds were fully utilized after hydrolysis. It was concluded that the organism could not be used directly to detect deoxynucleoside polyphosphates in tissue extracts. Keywords
