Abstract
Proliferation of the multiple epidermis produces highly succulent leaves in some species of Peperomia [P. glabella, P. reflexa, P. dolabriformis, P. columella, and P. asperula]. In the most extreme development, subspherical or subunifacial leaves are produced that exhibit extraordinary capacity for water retention. The cuticle is the main barrier to water loss. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
