Abstract
Data on the actinium series gathered from carefully selected material have been correlated. It can be definitely concluded from these data that the actinium series is independent and the decay much more rapid than in the uranium-radium series. The significance of this fact for geology (age determinations, heat evolution) is pointed out. Keywords
