Structure development in polyvinylidene fluoride containing oxide fillers and additives

Abstract
Effect of additives, inorganic oxides such as PbO, TiO2, CoO and pigments such as copper-phthalocyanine on crystalline phase and morphology of polyvinylidene fluoride has been investigated. Particular phases are seen to get developed by specific fillers especially when used at small concentrations. The δ-phase is enhanced by PbO and TiO2, while the γphase is predominantly observed for CoO and phthalocyanine containing samples. These various observations have been explained on the basis of microdeformation during processing, nucleation and lattice mismatch theory.
