The simultaneous occurrence of a hitherto not described papillary cystadenoma of the iris and a morphologically similar tumor of the heterolateral upper eyelid (primary multiplicity) is reported. Although the iridal tumor revealed no sign of malignancy, it metastasized to the epsilateral cervical lymph nodes prior to the enucleation of the eyeball. The metastasis was not recognizable at the time of the enucleation. This is the first epithelial tumor of the iris known to have disseminated to extraocular tissues. There was a relapse as regards the tumor of the left upper eyelid.[long dash]Authors.
