Abstract
The convergent close-coupling method is extended to the calculation of electron scattering from atoms which may be modelled as two valence electrons above an inert Hartree - Fock core and applied to the beryllium atom. Elastic and excitations, as well as the total ionization and total cross section results for electron impact of the beryllium ground state, are presented at the energy range of 5 - 1000 eV. Very good agreement is found with the results of the recent R-matrix with pseudo-states calculations of Bartschat et al.Keywords
