Abstract
The presence of a flavin, almost certainly riboflavin, was observed in the newly laid eggs of the African migratory locust and of the desert locust. The yellow fluorescent pigment occurring in the eyes of both species was identified as a pterin; it closely resembles xanthopterin. Keywords
