Notes on Pristiphora glauca Benson

Abstract
A new species of larch-feeding sawfly, Pristiphora glauca Benson, was first observed in 1950. The activities of this insect appear to be confined to the spring and early summer, and it would appear that it is one of the least widespread of the larch sawflies.Notes on the biology of this species, including larval descriptions, are given, and field characteristics and distribution discussed. Differences in feeding habits from those of Pristiphora wesmaeli (Tischb.), with which it may be confused, are mentioned.
