Abstract
The Raman spectra of the platinum complex [Pt(NH3)4]Cl2 and [Pt(ND3)4]Cl2 in the solid state and in aqueous solution and of [Pt(NH3)4]Cl2·H2O in the solid state have been obtained and discussed. All the ligand vibrations in the deformation and rocking regions have been studied and some show interesting changes on hydration. The polarization data and high quality spectra obtained in this study allow a more complete assignment of the vibrational modes of the complex.Keywords
