Abstract
A method to measure the loss tangent and relative dielectric constant of geophysical media at ultrahigh frequencies was proposed and implemented. An analytic expression which is useful to derive the electrical properties of the medium was obtained from that of the field of a monopole immersed in such a medium. The measurements were made using sand and clay loam soils to validate the proposed method. The behavior of electrical properties of both kind of soils were studied with frequency and moisture content as the parameters. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
